1. Being consistent. Building trust in a relationship requires you to be predictable and consistent. In keeping the romance alive, you may at times want to spice up your relationship with the occasional surprise gift or impulsive trips to a special restaurant, but to build trust you need to be reliable and consistent every day.

2. Mean what you say. Yes, what you say to your partner needs to be reflected in your tone of voice and body language. If you say you’re happy to see her, your face must show happiness. If you are frowning, she won’t believe you. And if she doesn’t believe what you say, it would be difficult to gain he trust.

3. Believe in your partner’s ability. It is difficult to build trust if you go around believing that your partner is incompetent in certain things. If she is unable to do some things, tell her in a loving considerate manner. This will soften the truth and she may feel less devastated.

4. Being honest. Secrets are a no-no, as they will destroy a relationship. Being honest and open will keep your relationship healthy. Instead of walking on eggshells hoping that the secret won’t come out, be the first to tell your partner.

5. Getting your partner to know your needs. If you don’t tell your partner, they would not know what your needs are. Not to be selfish, but rather to get you to be truthful in your relationship. Encourage your partner to do the same too. This is a great way for both of you to work on the important things in your relationship instead of guessing what the other person wants.

6. Having the ability to say no. In being honest with one another, you must also learn to say no to certain things that feel strongly against. If you never say no, you will never gain the respect of your partner. Being firm and able to say no will in the long run help in building trust in your relationship.

7. Encouraging growth. A relationship needs constant care and attention so that it can blossom. In the course of your relationship, you will go through many obstacles and challenges. Instead of worrying about them, learn to embrace them and together work things out. When both of you can conquer the challenges, both of you will come out of it better individuals, in turn, building trust and making your relationship even stronger.
